Brand Guidelines

Using the Motio brand.

How to refer to Motio and our products, and how to use our name, wordmark, and colors in your materials. For source assets and partner co-branding, request the brand kit.

01 · Our name

Motio. Always title-cased.

The company name is written Motio — never “motio”, “MOTIO”, or “Motio Inc.” in running text (the legal name is Motio, Inc.). Platform editions are written “Motio for X”: Motio for Power BI, Motio for Tableau, Motio for Qlik, Motio for Cognos. Product names are written exactly as: Soterre, Gitoqlok, QSDA Pro, Guided Tour, MotioCI, MotioPI Pro, MotioCAP, Persona IQ.

Do

Write Motio title-cased in running text: “Motio versions every change automatically.”

Do

Use “Motio for X” for platform editions: Motio for Power BI, Motio for Tableau, Motio for Qlik, Motio for Cognos.

Don't

Never “motio”, “MOTIO”, or possessive product constructions like “Motio’s Soterre for Power BI” — just “Soterre for Power BI”.

Don't

Don’t abbreviate or translate product names: it’s QSDA Pro (not QSDA), Persona IQ (not PersonaIQ), Gitoqlok (not GitOqlok).

02 · Wordmark

One logo, two versions.

The Motio logo is the runner mark with the wordmark. Two versions are offered: full color for light backgrounds, and cream mono for dark backgrounds. Use the artwork supplied in the brand kit — don’t retype or redraw it. Give it clear space equal to the height of the “M”; minimum size 24px tall on screen, 8mm in print.

Full color · on light backgrounds
Motio logo, cream
Cream mono · on dark backgrounds
Do

Use the full-color logo on light backgrounds and the cream mono version on dark backgrounds, with clear space equal to the height of the “M”.

Do

In partner materials, set the Motio logo at equal visual weight to your own mark, separated by a thin rule.

Don't

Never stretch, outline, shadow, rotate, or recolor the logo, and never separate the runner mark from the wordmark.

Don't

Never place the full-color logo on dark or busy backgrounds, or the cream version on light ones — use the matching version.

03 · Color

One hero. One ink. One accent.

Kingfisher teal is the brand color — no competitor in the BI ecosystem owns it. Midnight is the ink. Marigold is the single high-energy accent: a highlighted word, a CTA edge, a status dot — never a background fill. Everything rests on warm, earth-tone neutrals. When reproducing the brand, use these values exactly.

04 · Typography

Three families. One job each.

Motio materials use three typefaces. When creating co-branded materials, license and use them as below; where that isn’t possible, substitute a neutral grotesque and keep the hierarchy.

Libre Caslon Display
Display serif
Total control over every change in BI.

Titles, pull quotes, and display moments. Regular weight, tight tracking.

General Sans
Workhorse grotesque
Every change to every report is captured automatically, attributed to its author, and reversible in one click. Aa Bb Cc 0123456789

Headlines, body copy, and interface text. 400/500 for body, 600/700 for emphasis and headings.
