Small comforts in the popup and the side panel: a font size control that both remember, a What's new dialog that shows up in the side panel too, and a side panel that opens the moment you make it the default. When the page stops answering, you now get one clear dialog instead of a stack of errors.
Font Size
A new Font size item in the ☰ menu of the popup and the side panel steps the text from 80% to 160%. The choice is remembered and shared between the two, so you set it once.
What's New
The What's new dialog after an update now appears in the side panel as well as the popup, with a new look.
Side Panel Default
With Use Side Panel by default on, the side panel now opens right after the extension is enabled, reloaded or updated. It used to take a tab switch or re-ticking the option before the popup gave way.
Lost Connection
When there is no connection to the page, because it was reloaded or the extension was updated, only the No connection to the page dialog is shown. Nothing loads and no error messages pile up on top of it until you refresh the page.

QSDA Pro can now sit behind a reverse proxy: an optional URL base path is configurable in the Control Panel. The app list stays interactive while a large list loads and remembers its expand and collapse state. Fixes cover a misreported calc time collection status and dark mode text in the Script Generator.
Base Path
An optional URL base path, or context, can be configured under Control Panel, Configuration, Service Parameters. Use it when QSDA is reached through a reverse proxy.
App List
The app list allows interaction while a large list is still being fetched, and its expand and collapse state is restored when you return to it from another page.

Default models are updated to GPT-5.4 mini, Gemini 3.8 Flash and Claude Sonnet 5, and AI settings have their own Ask AI section on the options page.
Ask AI Placement
Ask AI works in the new Sheet details dialog of Qlik Cloud and the newest Qlik Sense Enterprise, and in the inline sheet rename, as a Helper popover above the card. Disabled buttons explain on hover that an expression is needed.
Global Search
The button is back in the Qlik Cloud Create a new application dialog. From the measure editor and the Tools context menu, Global Search opens as a tab of the panel, shows a loading state while it connects to Soterre, and its search fields follow the selected Soterre node.
Integrations Page
The Integrations page of the options shows Soterre, QSDA Pro and Tableau Server as tabs, each with its connection status.
Tableau Workbooks
Timeline, Diff Editor and the Pre-deployment Checklist now work on Tableau workbooks, including switching between workbooks without reloading the page. The Diff Editor for Tableau loads faster, highlights changes right on the charts, fits dashboards to the screen and marks deleted versions.
Collision Detection
The Qlik app collision detection notification is redesigned with a close button and hides itself after ten seconds.

A major release. Controlled Attributes give every artifact a governed classification, and Deployment Flow Policies use them to say which deployments are allowed at all. A new cross-platform CLI drives nodes, jobs, search and versioning from a terminal. Tableau Cloud joins as a platform, Power BI and Fabric versioning reaches gateways, pipelines, lakehouses and warehouses, and Find Changes runs its work in parallel streams. AI Insights, named API tokens with expiry, automated project membership and a SIEM-ready authentication log round it out. Read the upgrade notes first: 3.3.0 moves to Java 25 and Tomcat 11.
Upgrade Notes
Soterre 3.3.0 runs on Java 25 and Tomcat 11. The installer replaces the bundled JRE and application server with no manual action needed, but any customisation made directly to the Tomcat installation must be re-applied. The Linux installer no longer offers bundled PostgreSQL, so Linux installations should point at an external PostgreSQL database. Search indices are rebuilt automatically by a deferred migration task after the upgrade, and results may be incomplete until it finishes. Reporting users created by earlier releases keep working, though the way they are created has changed, see Reporting below.
Controlled Attributes
A Controlled Attribute is a centrally defined characteristic an organisation assigns to an artifact, chosen from a fixed set of allowed values. The built-in Container Purpose attribute categorises containers as Development, UAT or Production, and custom attributes can be added for your own taxonomies with a configurable list of values, a suggested default and the artifact subtypes they apply to. Assignments are managed from a dedicated screen with paging, filtering, bulk assignment by filter and export. Artifacts can be searched by attribute value, and every assignment change is recorded as audit history on the artifact. In Qlik Sense, streams and Personal Work can carry Controlled Attributes too.
Deployment Flow Policies
Policies define which deployment flows are allowed, expressed in terms of Controlled Attributes. A flow from Development into Production that the policy does not permit is refused before it starts, rather than caught afterwards.
Soterre CLI
A new cross-platform command line client for Linux, macOS and Windows covers node management, job management, search and versioning. Binaries ship with the server and download directly from the Soterre web application. It authenticates with a Soterre API token, supports multiple named profiles, environment variable overrides, --json output for scripting and shell completions for bash, zsh and fish. soterre version triggers versioning of one or more objects with a comment, tags and external ticket references, and either polls to completion or returns the job id at once. Qlik Sense, Qlik SaaS, Power BI and Tableau are supported initially.
AI Insights
Optional integration with AI services such as Anthropic, OpenAI and Gemini, on a bring-your-own-API-key basis. An Ask AI insights button appears on Deployment Preview, Deployment Request Review and Change Event Comparisons. Nightly stats include AI Insights usage, and collection is skipped when AI services are disabled.
Parallel Versioning
Find Changes jobs now run their versioning work as independent, parallel command streams, which substantially improves performance on large jobs. Per-command diagnostics capture error details and rate-limit wait times, and a new View Job Stats page shows progress and timings per stream. Adopted on Qlik Sense, Qlik SaaS, Power BI and Tableau Cloud.
API Tokens
A user can create multiple named Soterre API tokens, managed from the API Tokens tab of the user profile. Tokens can be limited to specific environments and roles, given an expiration date, and now use the standard JWT format.
Projects
Automated Inclusion Rules add Soterre users to a project based on their external group or role memberships in the associated analytics environment. Implicit per-project roles let members with write access create and edit that project's tags, and the security model for project members and content is improved. In Qlik Sense, roles and project membership can now be driven from custom properties.
Security and Operations
A dedicated audit log records every authentication event, formatted for ingestion by an enterprise SIEM. Connected environments can be given scheduled offline times so Soterre stops contacting a platform during its maintenance window. New environments start with a more constrained set of role values, rate limiting rules can vary by HTTP method so read and write traffic to the same endpoint are throttled independently, and Soterre uses virtual threads for common Tomcat, Quartz and Spring request and job handling. An SSL Probe dialog helps troubleshoot certificate problems.
Search and Tree
A Simple tab in Search queries all fields at once. Large artifact trees load incrementally, with Load More Nodes at 1,000, and the selected node gains a search field with a scope picker. Search results have Select All and Tag All actions, Discovery Time is the default time column for change event grids, diff of binary content is disabled, and bulk updates get status folders. A Security Principal dialog lets admins pick from external groups and roles when configuring environment roles or project membership.
Qlik Sense
Improved app-open handling reduces stale-session failures during versioning, and reload metadata versioning no longer fails when the portal session has gone stale. Content library files are fully versioned in a single Find Changes pass, a single variable can be versioned on its own, so restoring one deleted variable no longer produces extra versions, and artifact tree comparison works across different parents, such as a Personal Work app against its published copy. Live Deploy reports the underlying reload error when a pre-publish reload fails.
Qlik SaaS
System credentials are reduced to a single OAuth client per tenant, and the obsolete API Key expired notification is gone with them. REST API calls can use HTTP/2. Extra versioning work caused by incorrectly derived parent identities, which produced false changed signals, is eliminated. A multi-app deployment continues with the remaining apps when one fails on a Section Access violation and names the cause, an app published into a managed space is correctly reported as tracked when versioned through its published copy, and a single variable can be versioned on its own.
QSDA Pro Integration
The minimum QSDA Pro version is now 3.7.1. Failed inspection notifications name the artifacts that failed, with an and N more summary for long lists. Inspection results surface the Custom category with the custom rule's own label and description, each flag carries its severity of Info, Warning or Error broken down per category, and the deployment request activity shows flag results as a table with a row per category and a column per severity.
Power BI and Fabric
Versioning now covers gateways and connections, including deployment of connections, plus deployment pipelines, capacities, domains, environments, lakehouses and SQL analytics endpoints, mirrored databases and warehouses. Warehouse content needs an Elevated Deployment User. The dependency graph supports notebooks, connections and environment items, environment items are in the search index, semantic model parameters are versioned from the model definition, and TMDL definitions are stored as text so they can be compared in the diff viewer, with earlier content corrected on upgrade. Active Versioning responds to changes to scorecards, capacities, workspace settings and Fabric items, deployments made through ALM Pipelines are recorded as external deployment events on the timeline, and Power BI App is now called Workspace App throughout, with existing artifacts and events migrated.
Tableau Cloud
A new platform. Soterre connects to one or more Tableau Cloud sites with a Personal Access Token and versions projects, workbooks and data sources. Initial support includes deployment of workbooks with creation of the destination project path, search across Tableau Cloud content, Apply Reductions, a catalog of workbook calculations parsed from the workbook definition, and the Soterre CLI.
Tableau Server
Workbook Observations are recorded during inspection and available as search criteria, and the catalog of workbook calculations is built from a full parse of the workbook definition.
Issue Tracker Sync
When an artifact change event is linked to an issue in an external tracker such as Jira or Azure DevOps, changes to the comment on the change event are propagated as comments on the issue. Change event tags are included, and no-op edits are skipped.
Reporting
Reporting users are created with a guided script, soterre-createReportUser.sh on Linux and soterre-createReportUser.ps1 on Windows, that no longer depends on a bundled database. The reporting user is granted read access to the reporting_views_v1 schema instead of owning it, so creating one no longer needs a PostgreSQL superuser and later releases can keep adding views. Existing reporting users keep working, and the documentation explains how to move one onto the new grants.
Runtime Upgrades
The bundled JRE moves from 17 to 25, Tomcat from 9 to 11 on Jakarta EE, Solr to 10.0.0 with patched Jetty and ZooKeeper, and JanusGraph to a hardened 1.2.0.2 build. Node.js 20 is now bundled. Spring moves to 7 and Spring Boot is no longer a dependency, Hibernate to 7.4, and ActiveMQ, commons-beanutils, commons-fileupload, the PostgreSQL driver, Solr client and ZooKeeper are upgraded to address published CVEs. The Netty io_uring transport is excluded, removing 60 second stalls on Power BI token fetches.
Fixes
Qlik Sense: fixed a dependency graph rebuild failure when connecting to a node with an untrusted certificate.
QSDA Pro: an unrecognised flag category no longer fails the entire inspection, which affected any instance with custom flag rules.
Power BI: fixed multi-word search against multi-valued text fields, so a criterion such as Page Names contains Page 1 returns results.
Power BI: deploying a report updates its semantic model binding only when the report and the model are in the same workspace.
Power BI: the report connection type criteria are updated for the PBIR format, with Semantic Model added and obsolete types removed.

Removed the bundled PostgreSQL option from the Linux installer and the Qlik SaaS Reload Tasks API and its usages.
Global Search has a tab of its own now, in both the popup and the side panel, on Qlik app pages and Power BI reports alike — change the node, type, field or operator and it re-runs where it stands. The rest is panel craft: a half-height unique users chart, a slimmer pinned results header, a Deploy Now form that gets the panel to itself, and views that start at the same height. Fixes cover tab reordering, a stray scrollbar, the Soterre Helper in the new Qlik Sense Enterprise client and two diff viewer stumbles.
Lifecycle Insights
The unique users chart is now half as tall. It was pushing the view past the height of the side panel, so the panel no longer needs a vertical scrollbar and Lifecycle Insights reads in one screen.
Deploy Now
Opening the Deploy Now form hides the history table and toolbar behind it, for both Qlik and Power BI. The form gets the full panel instead of sharing it with the history you are not looking at.
Timeline Layout
The Version Now and Restore views now start at the same height as the timeline toolbar, so moving between them no longer shifts the content up or down.
Environment Badges
Each tab card in UI options shows the environments it is available in as small icon badges, so you can see which tabs apply where while arranging your layout.
Global Search
Global Search is now a tab of the popup and the side panel on Qlik app pages and Power BI reports, with an artifact type dropdown. Changing the node, type, field or operator re-runs the search in place, so refining a query does not mean starting it again or leaving the app you are working in.
Power BI Measures
Global Search results on Power BI now list every matching measure of a dataset with the same presentation as Qlik, including highlighted matches and copy buttons. The result list reads the same way on both platforms, and a measure can be copied straight out of it.
Results Header
Only the results count line stays pinned while you scroll a result list, above a slimmer summary, in both Qlik and Power BI. Less of the panel is taken up by the header and more of it by the results.

Platform Node Reporting
Each row in the platform_nodes reporting view now carries a browsable URL to the platform, the platform's own environment identifier — a Qlik SaaS or Power BI tenant id, or a Tableau site id — plus node availability and the node's search index, dependency graph and path selection settings. Reports built on the view no longer have to be hand-annotated to say where a node actually lives and how it is configured.
QSDA Pro 3.7.1 API
Qlik Sense and Qlik SaaS: the QSDA Pro integration now targets the QSDA 3.7.1 API, verified against QSDA Pro 3.6.4 and newer. Older QSDA Pro versions are not verified for this release and can leave the additional reporting columns empty.
Calc Time Units
Qlik Sense and Qlik SaaS: the calc_time column of qsda_inspection_calc_time continues to hold milliseconds. QSDA 3.4 and newer report the value in seconds and Soterre converts it on write, while older versions report milliseconds and are stored as reported, so the column stays comparable across QSDA versions.

Audit Log Volume
Power BI: excessive logging has been reduced for audit events Soterre does not process. Logs stay focused on the events that actually drive versioning, which makes them easier to read during an investigation.

Mostly a matter of keeping pace with Qlik: unused master items has been adapted to the newest SaaS and Enterprise interface, and no longer empties out on apps carrying a great many of them. Repository Unlink
An app can now be unlinked from its repository. Deleting a repository used to leave the app still pointing at it, and that link can now be cleared.

Soterre Tab
The Soterre tab gains a column for external tickets, an edit version button for Power BI, and the ability to launch a deployment from a plan and review its deployment history. Starting a deployment and checking what was deployed before both happen in the tab, without a trip to another tool.
One problem workbook used to cost you an entire Find Changes run. Now it is skipped, the run finishes, and the job description tells you how many were left behind. Tableau also gets a configurable wait for slow packaging, a longer REST read timeout, HTTP errors logged where you can see them without reproducing the problem, and two versioning fixes covering workbooks published without an extract and one data source over 2 GB causing every data source on the site to be skipped.
UI Configuration Surface
Fewer configuration properties are exposed to the Soterre UI.
Tableau Find Changes
Tableau: a Find Changes job no longer fails outright when a single workbook cannot be downloaded. Content that cannot be versioned is skipped, the run finishes, and the job description reports how many were skipped, so one problem workbook no longer costs you the whole run.
Tableau Timeouts
Tableau: a new property controls how long Soterre waits for Tableau to package a workbook for download, defaulting to 1200 seconds, and the general Tableau REST read timeout has increased from 20 to 60 seconds. Workbooks that Tableau is slow to package are given time to finish instead of being abandoned mid-download.
Tableau Error Logging
Tableau: HTTP error responses are now logged at WARN rather than DEBUG. A failed call is visible at default logging levels, so diagnosing it no longer requires turning debug logging on and reproducing the problem.
Fixes
Tableau: fixed workbooks published without a data extract being silently skipped during versioning. Both .twb XML and packaged .twbx formats are now handled.
Tableau: fixed every data source on a site being skipped when any one of them exceeded 2 GB.
Deployment from Personal Work can now be disallowed outright on Qlik Sense: the actions are hidden in the UI and the server rejects the request anyway, so the policy holds for calls that never touch the interface. Fixes cover the Deployment Wizard on Qlik and Power BI, and a Tableau re-authentication loop.

Qlik Sense: a new property disallows deployment from Personal Work. The deployment actions are hidden in the UI and any deployment sourced from Personal Work is rejected by the server, so the policy holds even for requests that do not come through the interface.

You can now test an SSL configuration from the service status page where you were already reviewing it; a project settings menu fix and a precautionary patch to a Microsoft authentication package go with it.

Patched a published security vulnerability in a Microsoft authentication package. There is no evidence it could be exploited within QSDA Pro; the patch follows industry best practice.
Import gets the spotlight: a load script can now be pulled in from another Soterre application instead of copied across by hand. Timestamps show up in the read-only diff viewer, Lifecycle Insights has had a round of interface work, and a floating diff viewer error when changing version is fixed.
Script Import
The Import tab can now pull a load script in from another Soterre application, so a script that already exists elsewhere can be reused without copying it out by hand.

Damaged chunks finally have a repair path: re-version an artifact that contains one and it heals from content you still hold. The DevOps Extension picks up deployment and restore scenarios and links out to the related ticket, while smaller additions land in Qlik Sense Live Deploy, Power BI connection metadata and Tableau site configuration. Fixes run across the dependency graph, portal authentication and deployment on all three platforms.
Chunk Healing
A damaged chunk can now be healed by re-versioning one or more artifacts that contain it, giving a damaged chunk a repair path from content you still hold.
Live Deploy Images
Qlik Sense: Live Deploy gained a post-import phase that deduplicates attached images referencing Content Library images on the source app. Deployed apps no longer accumulate redundant copies of the same image.
Connection Recency
Power BI: a new connection property reports connection recency, so you can see how current the connection information held against an artifact is.
Tableau User Groups
Tableau: the site configuration now accepts multiple values for the user group setting. A site whose users are spread across several groups can be configured without settling on one.
DevOps Extension
The Soterre DevOps Extension now exposes deployment and restore scenarios, and surfaces external ticket URLs. Developers can run deployment and restore work, and reach the related tracker item, without leaving their tooling.
Fixes
Fixed a Dependency Graph bug where labels for non-artifact resources such as QVDs could repeat.
Fixed a portal authentication scenario that could silently fail when unrelated messages were posted back to the main tab. Soterre now validates that the login response came from the authentication tab it opened, so stray messages no longer interrupt Qlik, Power BI or Tableau sign-in.
Qlik Sense: fixed a Content Library versioning bug when a version request included a content file from two different libraries.
Qlik Sense and Qlik SaaS: fixed a deployment issue when deploying an app object whose id already exists on the target app at a different visibility. Soterre now creates a new object at the deployed visibility instead of failing.
Soterre DevOps Extension: fixed a restore failure against Qlik SaaS tenants.
Plenty here. App Groups analyse several apps that share a data model together, so a field is only called unused when every app in the group agrees, and a new Project Manager role owns how apps get analysed without handing over full administrative rights. Flag status changes are now recorded with notes, the App Size Calculator estimates memory at larger data volumes, and the internal API port is localhost only, so external API callers should target the UI port instead.

The licensing agreement is displayed during installation and must be accepted before the install completes.
Project Manager Role
A new Project Manager user role owns product behaviour settings such as collection defaults and custom flag definitions, reached from a new top-level Settings menu. The Admin role keeps the security-adjacent configuration, so the people who decide how apps are analysed can change those settings without holding full administrative rights.
App Size Calculator
A planning tool that calculates app size using different data volumes. It answers what an app will cost in memory at a larger volume before the data gets there.
Wildcard Field Names
Field names that are always in use can now be given as wildcards, so a family of fields is covered by one entry instead of a list of names. Resource grids can also be grouped by dragging a column.
Master Item Flag
New flag: Master Item holding unused field, raised when an unused master item is the only consumer of a field that would otherwise be unused. A field like that reads as used by every other measure, so the flag exposes it, and an auto-fix is available.
Flag Notes
Flag status changes are now recorded, with the history shown in flag details and on a new Flag Notes page, and a note can be attached when a status is changed. The reason a flag was accepted or set aside stays attached to the flag for whoever reviews it next.
App Groups
App Groups combine the analysis of several apps that share a common data model, showing which fields are unused across all of them. Analysing one app at a time cannot show that, and a shared field is only safe to retire when every app in the group agrees it is unused.
API Keys
API key management moved to a dedicated admin page where multiple keys can be created and managed.
App objects can now be imported from another Soterre application, and sheet diffs across apps have got quieter: a chart id on its own is no longer reported as a change. Feature voting moves into the popup, and a QSDA Pro token fetching issue and a Lifecycle Insights data mismatch are fixed.
Object Import

Sheet Diff
The diff viewer for sheets across Soterre apps has been improved, and no longer flags a change when the only difference is a chart id. Those matches were noise, so what is left in the diff is the edits that actually matter.
