Orthofix, the eighth-largest medical device company in the world, needed to move from on-prem Cognos to Cognos SaaS while keeping roughly 10,000 reports straight across a global user base. Reports were touched by many developers, with no easy way to know what was actually used. Then, near the end of the migration, a merger with C-Spine landed a second Cognos estate on a different stack (SQL Server vs. Oracle), doubling the complexity overnight.
Orthofix used Motio to inventory the whole estate: what existed, what was scheduled, and what was bouncing back to people who had left. Content was promoted cloud-side one business group at a time, with reports validated between environments before the old platform was switched off. When something was deleted by mistake, version control brought it back in minutes, and the same tooling compared C-Spine's reports across environments through the merger.
